Back to School Fashion on a Dime!

Okayy, so here is my first real post!! :) yayy!

Fashion on a Dime:

I know that creating your back to school look can be challenging when you only have a certain budget. So here is how I did it for my Senior year of highschool, well actually my parents paid for most of my clothes but I did try to not buy the expensive stuff haha.

Fashion Finds:

I honestly went to yard sales and goodwill. It depends on your goodwill to whether or not if you will find anything good. My goodwill is not a very good one.. So when I went on vacation, I searched there. I ended up finding two awesome shirts! One was a mint green button up dressy shirt from Banana Republic, and the other was a white slouchy tee from Charlotte Russe. I only spent $7.00 total.

Charlotte Russe: $22.99

My yard sale experience was a great success!! I love it because you never know what your going to find. Some are just junk but others you can find some great treasures in. I think I went to at least 50 yard sales this 2011 summer. I found lots of great deals on just about anything! I am definitly a clothes and shoe person, I like my jewelry and accessories too. Bags are a must. I found, at one yard sale, an American Eagle Winter coat for $20, tons of Pac Sun and Abercrombie shorts for $3, Ugg boots for $20, and countless tees from everywhere for only $1!! I had hit the yard sale JaCkPoT!! I ended up getting Abercrombie and Fitch flip flops for $2 and a few tees. My sister got a couple of the shorts..
Yard sales are always going to be my wekaness. :)

Abercrombie Flip Flops: $32.20

Dept. Store Fashion:

You always want the name brand clothes for school, but they are just too expensive! Twitter and Facebook are major helpers of when the sales are though. Also sign up for the e-mails! ,e and my sisters hit it bigtime all at once in every store at the mall it seemed.

We first went to Forever 21, I looove their clothes and they are really not that badly priced to begin with, but on sale it is like HeAvEn!! I got quite a few things from there.

Cardigan: Forever 21: $17.88

Abercrombie Super Skinny Jeans: $44

We also went to Abercrombie and Fitch, who was having an everything marked down is an extra 50% off plus 20% off your whole purchase. Amazing!

Online deals are hit and miss. You just gotta keep checking in from time to time and you can save big, a lot of times with free shipping. Make sure you know your sizing in advance or check the sizing chart if it is provided.

Also, when your buying stuff, think to yourself.. :Will I wear it more than once?" "Is it exactly what you want?" and "Does it go with anything else I already own?"
When you ask yourself those 3 key questions, it may be the deciding factor of yoour purchase.

Know when to splurge. If it absoloutly to die for, you'll wear it, and you need it, then splurge!!

My parents have to shop for 3 teen girls who love clothes, and in my opinion they did good this year with school shopping. But that is just me. I'm 100% sure my father would totally disagree, haha, but.

Okayy So putting together everything you bought into outfits is the fun part.
You get to take everything you just bought and try it all on with different pieces to create a look all your own.

*Keep in mind when shopping, try to buy pieces to go with each other or tanks that can mix and match with several pieces. Always have a secret weapon piece that will go with anything! It could be a blazer, shoes, a pair of skinny jeans or your favorite necklace or scarf.*
