College Life: Decisions, decisions, decisions.....

So since you are the lovely age of 17, or so, college is probably a topic brought up a lot  in your life. Parents asking where you wanna go so they can approve for cost and teachers bugging you about how you better figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life... When truthfully, we don't want to think about it really. We are still 17, we still wanna party and have fun and be a  kid. College is not the first thing on our minds.

Unfortunately, it needs to be at least top 3 on our minds.

Making the decision of what you wanna do, where you wanna go, how your gonna do it, its pretty crazy and stressful for teens.

I'm not saying it can't be easy, it's just not what we want to do yet.

I'm going to try to make your college search easier, I guess. haha.

When searching for the college that is going to be right for you, there are a couple of things you should probably take into consideration before committing.

1. Major
Does the school you have an interest in, have the major you want to take?
2. Location
Is the location of the school close enough that you could come home if you needed
                            to?
Is the location far enough away that you can learn to be independent?
And finally, is the location around stuff?? Food, Fun and laundromats....
3. Cost
Is your preferred college affordable for you and your family?

When trying to figure out your major, try it over your junior to senior year summer.
I originally thought I wanted to be a neonatal nurse or a pediatric nurse. For the longest time I thought that was the perfect job for me. I volunteered at a local hospital my jr to sr year summer, and found out that it really is not for me. I just didn't like the being in a hospital doing the same thing day in and day out. It's not for me. I'm a very creative person and I like to have a different agenda everyday and being busy. Just make sure that you get some in-field experience before you make your decision 100%.

When looking at the colleges, make sure they have the major! Also make sure that it's not a bad school. When I say bad school I mean, not on a list of top schools. They might be a little more costly, but it will be worth it when applying for a job in the career field of your choice.

I really can't tell you too much advice on college, simply because I am still in the decision making stages as well. I would really like to attend Kent State University -Main campus for Fashion Merchandising. I cannot wait to attend in the fall if I get in :) Wish me Luck!

And I wish all of my readers luck in there journey as well!
